HorseRidingClub
Ross House Riding Club is based at the AIRE and Fáilte
Ireland approved Ross House Equestrian Centre, Mountnugent, Co.
Cavan.
The aim of our club is to provide local riding enthusiasts and
non horse owners with the chance to take part in weekly club
lessons, local and national competitions, organized by similar
clubs in association with the A.I.R.C., including Show-Jumping, Dressage,
Cross-Country, One-day events, and Jump Cross (a combination of
show jumping and cross country).
We are a small friendly club with a current membership of 30
ranging in ability from the beginner to Grand Prix standard.
Club members can avail of the excellent facilities at Ross
House, such as an 150 x 230 ft indoor arena, 150 x 240 ft all
weather sand arena with a 90 x 120 ft warm-up arena beside that.
Additionally there is 150 x 230 ft grass arena for show jumping and
90 x 120 ft sand Ménage for exercise.
For the eventing and Cross Country riders Ross House grounds
have a five kilometers track with fences for novice to advanced
comprising water jumps, ditches, logs, brush fences and other
obstacles. (Note: For the time being this track is temporarily not
available.)
For those riders who wish to hack out, Ross is situated beside
Lough Sheelin in beautiful countryside with miles of country lanes,
forest tracks and shore line paths.
Ross House Equestrian Centre provides horses and ponies, with
all the safety equipment, to hire for club events, trekking and
lessons.
Club training takes place on Wednesday evenings, by instructors
Ellinor Murdy (BHSAI) and Robert Murdy (FEI L1).
