Accommodation
Set in mature grounds on the shores of Lough Sheelin, Peter and Ulla’s old manor house, Ross House is an ideal holiday retreat, located in Mountnugent, County Cavan. The accommodation enjoys a very lovely location, situated on a 400 acre farm and offers a good standard of accommodation at a modest price.
History
Ross House has been built over centuries. Historically, The night before his final battle at the bridge of Finnea “Miles The Slasher” was reported to have stayed at the neighbouring Ross Castle. Accordingly, Ross House may have harboured some of Cromwell’s soldiers.
Today it’s homely atmosphere invites peace and relaxation. There is a fine choice of activities at hand from a private pier that has boats for fishermen to explore the lake, to safe bathing, a sandy beach and tennis courts.
