Ross House Riding Club
Ross House Riding Club is based at the AIRE and Fáilte Ireland approved Ross House Equestrian Centre, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan.
The aim of our club is to provide local riding enthusiasts and non horse owners with the chance to take part in weekly club lessons, local and national competitions, organized by similar clubs in association with the A.I.R.C., including Show-Jumping, Dressage, Cross-Country, One-day events, and Jump Cross (a combination of show jumping and cross country).
We are a small friendly club with a current membership of 30 ranging in ability from the beginner to Grand Prix standard.
Club members can avail of the excellent facilities at Ross House, such as an 150 x 230 ft indoor rena, 150 x 240 ft all weather sand arena with a 90 x 120 ft warm-up arena beside that.
Additionally there is 150 x 230 ft grass arena for show jumping and 90 x 120 ft sand Ménage for exercise. For the eventing and Cross Country riders Ross House grounds have a five kilometers track with fences for novice to advanced comprising water jumps, ditches, logs, brush fences and other obstacles. (Note: For the time being this track is temporarily not available.)
For those riders who wish to hack out, Ross is situated beside Lough Sheelin in beautiful countryside with miles of country lanes, forest tracks and shore line paths.
Ross House Equestrian Centre provides horses and ponies, withall the safety equipment, to hire for club events, trekking and lessons.
Club training takes place on Wednesday evenings, by instructors Ellinor Murdy (BHSAI) and Robert Murdy (FEI L1).
